Dr Sarah Karabus
Paediatrician & Allergologist
MBChB (UCT), Diploma of Allergology, FCPaed (SA), MRCPCH (UK), Diploma of Child Health (SA)
In addition to being a general paediatrician, Dr Karabus also has an additional qualification in the field of Allergology.
Dr Karabus graduated at the University of Cape Town Medical School in 1999. She specialized in Paediatrics and Allergology at Red Cross Children's Hospital and obtained her membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics in the UK.
Thereafter, she completed a further two year postgraduate training in the Division of Asthma and Allergy achieving her Diploma of Allergology in 2009.
She has published several allergy and non-allergy related articles in accredited medical journals and has contributed to a chapter on Drug Allergy in the most recent Allergy Society of South Africa Handbook of Practical Allergy.
She has presented talks at local and international Allergy conferences including at the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.
Dr Karabus is a member of various organisations including as the Allergy Society of South Africa, the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the British Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology and the Canadian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
In addition to her private practice, Dr Karabus is also a senior lecturer/consultant in the Division of Asthma and Allergy at Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital.
